We all have a special day, a date on the calendar… an event that represents much more than a number.
The Calçotada is the oldest event on the 6to6 calendar; it was the first of 18 that have followed, and it shows no signs of wear and tear.
After many editions and having experienced the last one last Saturday, March 15th, we can affirm that its essence and spirit are more alive than ever. Nearly 150 Sixters and nearly 90 supercars displayed on a dreamy grid filled our eyes on a day that couldn’t have been more memorable.
A radiant sun and a blue sky reigned from early morning, anticipating a colorful day. A day in which hugs, laughter, and the roar of engines alternated in a perfect symphony to the delight of all those in attendance.
And from early on, many supercars were heading up to the Eurostars Sitges Hotel, where the entire group would depart after breakfast and a welcome briefing for all participants.
We were present with our Alfa Romeo 4C Cattivo, featuring the latest upgrade from our Linea Performante Power Kit, and with the cars of two good clients and Friends. A Ferrari 812 Superfast equipped with the iconic Cattivo forged wheels in 21″ front and 22″ rear in our equally iconic Oro Cattivo Opaco Linea Speciale exclusive color, and a Porsche 911 Carrera S with a very special set of our Omologata model in 19″ front and 20″ rear, configured through our Linea Speciale Atelier program in our special hand brushed finish with clear powder coating over aluminium Oro Bianco Traslucido and with hand-painted logo color fill in Nero Vulcano with CNC-machined aluminium Racing Caps, also in Nero Vulcano, with carbon fiber center caps featuring the Porsche logo in Bianco Monte Carlo.
The starting lineup was completed with a dream lineup, a lineup that would have the Mercedes-AMG Black Series as its maximum exponent, a dream supercar derived directly from competition and put on the road so that a lucky few could enjoy it at the controls.
Completing this lineup was a good retinue of AMG, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Bentley and Alfa-Romeo.
The ideal garage for any self-respecting petrolhead.
Of particular note was the arrival of AMG cars from Quadis Autolica, an authorized AMG Performance Center and official Mercedes-AMG dealer, who gave us the opportunity to see, hear, and experience special models like the AMG SL63 and the incredible all-electric AMG G580, which we were able to put on a bit of a show with at the route’s stop.
After breakfast and the obligatory briefing, and despite the lovely weather on the hotel terrace with the incredible sunshine, it was time to start the engines and hit the road. For many, this is perhaps one of the most exciting moments, a moment when we close the briefing and say something like, “Sixters, let’s go!”
The Zero car was already in position, pulling and stretching the group in a line that stretched down the straight stretch of the Terramar Golf course and entered the route to devour the kilometers of a day we were eagerly awaiting. Behind him, a color palette blended with the landscape, which the media car tried to capture to capture the best memories of the participants.
The first stage took us through a mix of fast roads and country roads in the Mediona area. After this initial warm-up, we arrived at Valls, where we had a refreshment stop and regrouped before tackling the winding sections from l’Espluga de Francolí to Ulldemolins, passing through Poblet and Vilanova de Prades. These were fun stretches where we could enjoy our sports cars in a healthy way and capture fond memories of these two crossing points thanks to the photo and media team accompanying us.
The refreshment stop at Masia Bou was a great moment, enjoying the good atmosphere and being able to see how the new G 580 performs, turning 360º and opening its doors to all comers.
It must be said that it was a major player in this event.
After this stop, the more twisty sections awaited us. More than an hour and a half of driving and enjoyment led to La Boella, where we would enjoy the traditional calçotada.
Once in La Boella, a crowd of spotters awaited us to capture the best possible image of the nearly 90 sports cars accompanying us. A selection of AMG cars on the wall of the Masia would welcome the Sixters before heading down to the wine cellar where they would taste the calçots with their unique sauce.
Inside the wine cellar, the calçots would be served at round tables, following the popular tradition, before moving on to the second part of the grilled meat, now seated in the main room.
After this meal and after great moments, chats, and after-dinner conversations, it was time to start the engines again and head to La Daurada, in the Port of Vilanova i la Geltrú.
With a beautiful sunset over the sea, and a glass in hand, we would bid farewell to this last edition of the calçotada, which will be so fondly remembered by the Sixters.
