AUTOBELLO MADRID

JULY 5, 2023

The third AutoBello of the year was held on July 5th in a new venue, the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Everything was in place so that attendees could thoroughly enjoy the good atmosphere and the best movements in the world, cars and watches.

We were present together with our official distributor in Madrid, who brought a Ferrari F12 that drew a lot of attention thanks to its decoration and because it was equipped with spectacular 21” front and 22” rear Llagos Cattivo forged wheels finished in our LINEA SPECIALE Nero Carbonio Opaco colour with CNC aluminium Racing caps painted to match the Giallo Modena colour of the brake calipers. We also exhibited other forged wheel models such as the Omologata for the Ferrari SF90 and Cattivo for the Ferrari F8 in our star colour Oro Cattivo. Our distributor also attended the event with a Ferrari 812 Superfast, 355, 355 GTS, Detomaso Mangusta, Viper GTS, Radical, Shelby Cobra, Alpine A110, Porsche 992 Targa 4S among other very special cars.

There was excitement among the faithful to the event to see how the day would develop in the always elegant Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, after many years enjoying Casa Mónico as a venue. The area chosen for the exhibition was the Pista Verde, one of the best equestrian facilities for show jumping in Europe. It also has capacity for 3600 people in the stands, an area where numerous catering points were installed, perfect for fighting the heat in good company.

Among them were the two Mahou bars, Gonzalez Byass, Macallan, Ron Santa Teresa 1796, Ron Flor de Caña, Palmar Spirits, Viña Pedrosa, Vinos Polo Roncero, Leona Sherry, Guilis, La Academia del Gusto, Conservas Frinsa, Anchoas Revilla, Doble & Gilda aperitifs, Clemen, Gracias Padre, La Embajada del Jamón, Moods and Vinumium (caviar and champagne). The social aspect is essential at AutoBello, and the event becomes a meeting point for the automotive and business sector in general.

Among the numerous VIP attendees, the presence of the mayor of Madrid, Mr. José Luis Martínez-Almedia, who attended in a personal capacity, stood out.

As always, the main show was on the grass, with the best brands and the most amazing sports cars. Porsche exhibited the 911 Dakar with the Rothmans “Roughroads” style decoration, a model that caused a sensation among the numerous Porsche fans, with many clients from Centro Porsche Madrid Norte and Porsche Madrid Oeste.

The Porsche Club Spain occupied a separate area and the most spectacular cars were exhibited there, with two 993s prepared by the Japanese specialist RWB, as well as several GT3s.

As for the other major German firms, Audi showed its sportiest range, the RS.

Mercedes-AMG attended with its high-performance electric sedans EQS and EQE.

BMW attracted a lot of attention with the new M2 and the XM plug-in hybrid SUV, with 748 hp and a groundbreaking design.

Another SUV that challenges conventions with its lines is the 100% electric Kia EV9, the ultimate exponent of the Korean firm’s strength, which could be seen alongside the also electric EV6, Car of the Year in Europe 2022.

As always, the presence of Ferrari was impressive with the support of Santogal, official dealer for Madrid. No less than two 812 Competizione, along with recent models such as the 296 GTB or the SF90. We were also able to admire the latest F8 Tributo that left the factory, with a full carbon kit and owned by a Spanish client.

In addition, this year its neighbours from Modena, Maserati, made a wide display to support their recent innovations, such as the MC20 Cielo, the Grecale SUV and above all the new GranTurismo, the most representative model of the range. In their space there were also classic models such as the always impressive Ghibli from the 60s or a first-generation Quattroporte with original Madrid registration (which is for sale). As an example of what their Fuoriserie customization division can do, they also exhibited the Grecale “Mission to Mars Edition” with a galactic orange paint exterior, red-gold tinted windows and Vortex wheels. Along the same lines was the GranTurismo Luce, based on the mechanical base of the Folgore version (100% electric) and with a completely chrome exterior.

The Lamborghini Madrid area is always one of the most spectacular and colorful, and on this occasion, and awaiting the new Revuelto, the most striking thing was several units of the Huracán STO. Even so, the most amazing car at AutoBello 2023 was for many the Lamborghini Miura S/SVJ Spyder, the only one with a removable roof that exists in the world.

However, the most exclusive modern supercar that visitors were able to see was manufactured in the United Kingdom. No less than two Aston Martin Speedsters (one green and one in green lacquered carbon) shone in the Tayre area, the brand’s official dealership. This very limited series of 88 units does not have a windscreen and is fitted with a 5.2 V12 biturbo engine with 700 hp, with a price of around 900.000 euros.

Also created for driving connoisseurs but more affordable, the Alpine is increasingly present at AutoBello, two-seaters that have been classics since they leave the factory.

With a similar philosophy in terms of lightness and tradition, Lotus Carwagen Bilbao exhibited two units of the Emira. The imminent arrival on the market of the electric SUV Eletre will help the legendary firm make up for lost time. The rarest modern exotic sports car at the event was the Invictus GT, a beautiful one-off with an aesthetic reminiscent of the Alfa 33 Stradale of 1968 and based on a Lotus Exige. Its owner is a British man who has worked on the project for ten years. The Bentley range also arrived from the islands, with the best-selling Bentayga at the head, as well as the clients of Bentley Madrid, which has just opened new facilities in Boadilla del Monte.

Fans of the countryside and hunting were able to discover the new Ineos Grenadier, the pure all-terrain vehicle of British origin, which, like Bentley, is sold by Astara.

Land Rovers are also a must-have at AutoBello, with the support of the leading dealership Movilcar.

Classic Defender fans enjoyed the prepared and modernised Lynx units.

Lexus exhibited its range alongside the surprising LM MPV, the most refined VIP vehicle on the planet.

As for the classics, the heat in the capital did not prevent many brave souls from taking their jewels out of the garage, some of which are almost a century old. This was the case of the 1929 Bentley Vander Plas from the C. De Salamanca collection, with a record of Le Mans.

They also exhibited a fantastic XK120 lightweight racer, part of the collection for approximately sixty years.

Its body also sported an elegant decoration commemorating the 150th anniversary of C. de Salamanca. AutoStorica from Barcelona, great specialists in restoration and especially in Jaguar, brought a beautiful C Type recreation and an Aston DB5. The extremely rare Stanguellini, the Modena brand that produced hand-made competition models between 1936 and the early 1960s, were among the winners at the Mille Miglia. It is very difficult to see two cars from this brand together, and two of them from the Florida Classics collection, a 1100 Sport and a 2800 Sport, shone at AutoBello.

Teo Martín also delighted the attendees with the exclusive Kimera EVO37 and the glorious Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 from Group B.

And once again this year, the ultimate expression of elegance on wheels is thanks to the international specialist Francisco Pueche, who exhibited the exquisite Delage D8S from 1932 and two Hispano-Suizas: an Alfonso XIII from 1913 and an HS26 from 1935.

Following the positive impressions conveyed to us by the attendees regarding the new location, fans and organisers hope that next year the event can be held again at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
